How-to videos
It’s easy to look after your AirSense 11 device. Watch the video for information about daily and weekly cleaning, disassembling and reassembling your device, checking for damage and replacing the air filter.
Here’s a reminder of how to clean the AirSense 11 sleep apnoea device. Always unplug the device before cleaning it and ensure that all parts are dry before plugging it back in.
Daily Cleaning
1. Empty the humidifier tub and wipe it thoroughly with a clean disposable cloth. Allow it to dry out of direct sunlight.
2. Refill the humidifier tub with drinking-quality water.
Weekly Cleaning

Wash the components as described:

Air tubing - in warm water using a mild dishwashing liquid.

Humidifier tub - in warm water using a mild dishwashing liquid OR in a solution with a ratio of 1 part vinegar and 9 parts water at room temperature.

Outlet connector - in warm water using a mild dishwashing liquid OR in a solution with a ratio of 1 part vinegar and 9 parts water at room temperature.

Components should not be washed in temperatures higher than 55ºC.

Rinse each component thoroughly in water.

Allow to dry out of direct sunlight or heat.
-
Wipe the exterior of the device with a dry cloth.
Notes:

The humidifier tub and outlet connector may be washed in a dishwasher.

Do not wash the air tubing in a dishwasher or washing machine.

The air filter is not washable or reusable.

- Ramp Time: The Ramp feature gradually increases your therapy pressure from a low starting point until it reaches your prescribed treatment pressure. The time this takes is known as the Ramp Time. When Ramp Time is set to Auto, the device gradually increases the pressure when it detects that you have fallen asleep. You can set your Ramp Time to Off, Auto, or any length of time between 5 and 45 minutes. Scroll to My Options, select Ramp Time, and adjust to your preferred setting.
- Humidity: The humidifier moistens the air you breathe to make your therapy more comfortable. If you use the Climate Control Auto setting with ClimateLineAir heated tubing, the temperature and humidity will be automatically preset at levels designed to maximise comfort. Simply plug in your ClimateLineAir tube and press the Start button.
You can also manually set the humidity level on your AirSense 11 device or turn it to Off by selecting Humidity in the My Options menu. If you’re getting a dry nose or mouth, turn up the humidity: 8 is the highest humidity setting. If you’re getting any moisture in your mask, turn down the humidity: 1 is the lowest humidity setting.
Please note that the device sold on this page is not equipped with a humidifier. If you want to enjoy the benefits of heated humidification described above, please purchase the AirSense 11 AutoSet device with built-in humidifier and ClimateLineAir for Air11.

Please note that this is a medical device with mechanical working parts, so it shouldn’t be placed in the hold of the aircraft where it might get damaged by airport baggage handling. Take a copy of ResMed’s FAA Air Travel Compliance Letter so you can carry your device through airport security and onto the plane.
If you are using your device on a plane, please DO NOT use the humidifier. Turbulence could cause the water to spill and hurt someone or damage the device. Make sure there’s no water in your humidification tub before you pack it.
